Bethlehem - Ma’an - The Palestinian Journalists Union called on the Palestinian Authority to reopen the Al-Jazeera offices in Ramallah demanded they respect rights and freedoms of media and journalists and of citizens to free speech and freedom of expression.

The union said in a statement that all Palestinian media must be patient and refrain from publishing material that may inflame the situation. They said journalists must consider the delicate internal situation in Palestinian politics.

The union at the same time condemned the violation of the media’s right to “express and write and broadcast,” and said the court should refrain from taking action against media outlets like Al-Jazeera.
