Gaza – Ma’an – Twenty-seven couples were wed in a mass ceremony organized by the Hamas movement and civil society groups in the Al-Maghazi Refugee Camp Friday.

The At-Taysir society organized the wedding, the first of its kind for the camp, and Hamas leaders in the area funded the festivities, and provided gifts of 250 US dollars to each couple on behalf of de facto Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh.

Wael Az-Zared, head of the At-Taysir society, expressed great thanks for all who helped organized the event, and wished all the couples a happy future. The association, which works with the visually impaired in Gaza, organized the wedding, in part, so its beneficiaries could afford to marry.
