Ramallah – Ma’an – The official Palestinian stance on the UN-backed Goldstone report harmed Palestinian national interests and embarrassed supporters of the Palestinian people, Minister of Social Affairs Majida Al-Masri said Saturday.

The first member of the caretaker government to speak out against the Palestine Liberation Organization move, Al-Masri called delaying discussion of the report to the March 2010 Human Rights Council meeting a move that "gave Israeli war criminals the opportunity to avoid the report's repercussions."

Al-Masri, a member of the politburo of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) said the stance of the Palestinian ambassador to the UN "contradicts the Palestinian national consensus," adding that the delay had "angered friends and allies of the Palestinian people."

She called in the Palestinian leadership to "consider what happened there a lesson to avoid repeating in the future."

The DFLP leaders also accused the PLO, of which Hamas is not a member, of making a decision that "deepens Palestinian rivalry and raises questions about what motivated such a directive - as well as the decision-makers who ordered it."

When I heard about the decision, I could'nt breath. I was furious, baffled. Where is Abbas to explain that decision? Hiding in the Muqata'a (Green Zone) of Ramallah, a city besieged by settlers. Abbas must be removed by ANY means and as soon as possible. He is acting against our interests.

Worse than an embarrassment. It is a stab in the back of every Palestinian. I agree with Nour. Abbas has gotta go.

So many people in the West support the Palestinian right to human rights and autonomy. Delaying the discussion on the report is, in my opinion, traitorous to all Palestinian people.

I agree with Nour and Jerrold.. some reports say Fateh/PA conceded due to business deals involving a mobile company.. this is why th world and especially the Palestinian people should start a BOYCOTT campaign against this mobile company

Haddad, what a wonderful idea. Spread the word. Start a group on facebook, this company with Kuwaiti backing should be invited to shut down their operations before they even start and just somehow recover their investments elsewhere. It's not like Kuwaitis are short on cash.

You, Al-Masri, and the rest of the PA have my utter disgust for your continued collaboration with your oppressors.
