Jerusalem – Ma’an – The Muslim Christian Committee in Support of Jerusalem accused the United States of of giving Israel the "green light" to continue its aggression against Jerusalem's holy sites.

Secretary General of the committee Hasn Khater described “ what has happened in Jerusalem recently saw the promises of [US President] Barack Obama when he took office completely crumble...His statements that caused concern with the Israeli government have evaporated, and today the US administration totally ignores Israeli attacks in the holy city of Jerusalem."

Settlement construction in East Jerusalem is "at its peak," Khater said, noting home demolitions and property confiscations are also on the rise as the United States fails to notice.

Khater blamed Palestinian division and splits within the Arab world for the dismissive American position on Palestine, saying that in the end, "the Obama administration is no different than those that came before."
