Gaza – Ma’an – The anti-narcotics division of the Hamas-allied police force in Gaza said on Tuesday that it seized quantities of hashish and pills in two separate operations.

An official with the anti-drug squad said seven blocks of hashish were seized during a raid on the home of a suspected drug dealer in the city of Khan Younis. The suspect was also arrested and taken for interrogation, the source said.

In a separate operation, police seized 4,000 illegal pills during a raid in the Ash-Shuja’iyah neighborhood of Gaza City. Another suspected dealer was arrested in connection with that operation, according to the same official.

Later, the head of the anti-nacotics unit, Jamil Ad-Dahashan, held a news conference in his office, in which he displayed a the confiscated blocks of hashish and other drugs.
