Jericho – Ma’an – Palestinian Authority police said on Wednesday that they seized 300 kilograms of meat deemed unfit for human consumption in the West Bank city of Jericho.

A police report stated that traffic police stopped and after a search discovered that it was loaded with expired meat. The meat was reportedly en route to a local supermarket.

Customs officers examined the meant and found that the meat had been imported from outside the Palestinian territories, and that it did not meet PA quality standards, police said.

The PA also said the meet was destroyed and the traders involved were arrested.
