Hebron – Ma'an – Israeli soldiers detained a leader of the Palestinian People's Party and six activists at a demonstration against settlements in northeast Hebron on Friday evening.

Onlookers said troops shut down a protest planned by a group of youths, in cooperation with the People's Party, in front of the entrance to Israel's illegal Kiryat Arba settlement.

Soldiers fired tear-gas canisters and detained Fahmi Shahin, a member at the People's Party Central Committee, as well as six other unidentified solidarity activists, local residents said.
