Jenin – Ma’an – A pipe bomb exploded 300 meters from an Israeli military post near the West Bank village of Yabud, southwest of the city of Jenin on Monday, according to Israeli security sources.
The sources said the explosion resulted in no injuries. Israeli border guards then searched the area but were unable to find the suspected bombers, they added.
In a statement, an organization calling itself “The Group of the Martyr Imad Mughniyah” claimed responsibility for “detonating the pipe bomb near the military area on Monday at noon.”
The self-proclaimed group is named after Hizbullah’s former military commander who was assassinated in Syria in 2008. The group claims allegiance to the Al-Aqsa Brigades, the armed wing of the Fatah movement.
The statement added, “The mujahedeen were able to withdraw from the area safely, even though a large number of occupation forces rushed to the site and searched the area. This operation is the latest of a series of operations carrying out God’s will.”
