Gaza – Ma’an - Israeli authorities decided to open the Kerem Shalom crossing to allow food into the besieged Gaza Strip on Sunday, a local Palestinian official said.

Raed Fattouh, a Gaza border crossings representative, said that both the Nahal Oz and Karni crossings with Israel would remain closed.

Fattouh added that the Kerem Shalom crossing would be open for 90-100 trucks carrying commercial merchandise and humanitarian aid.

Meanwhile, Egypt opened its sole Gaza border crossing at Rafah and announced it would operate three extra days. Rafah opened in mid-September for three days, but has generally been closed since 2007 when Egypt began cooperating with an Israeli-led blockade on the coastal strip.
