Gaza – Ma’an – The Rafah border crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip closed on Thursday, according to de facto Ministry of Interior spokesman said, after having been opened for four days.

The spokesman, Ihab Al-Ghussein, added that 4,000 Palestinians from Gaza passed through the Rafah crossing over the course of four days, including civilians, patients and students.

The ministry added in a news release that 3,117 locals left the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border while 852 entered Gaza from Egypt.

The ministry said that 368 persons were banned by the Egyptian authorities from leaving Gaza.
