Israeli forces seize 24 Palestinians in night raids

Bethlehem – Ma’an – Israeli armed forces detained 24 Palestinians during overnight raids in the West Bank, a military spokesperson and Palestinian witnesses said on Wednesday.
The spokesperson said the detentions took place in the following locations: One in An-Nabi Elyas, east of Qalqiliya; One in Madama near Nablus, two in another village in the Nablus area; two in the Ramallah area, two in the village of Rakhme south of Bethlehem, one in Abu Nujeim south of Bethlehem, 11 in other Bethlehem villages, one in As-Sumu south of Hebron, and three in Jericho.
Israeli forces detain so-called “wanted” Palestinians in nightly raids in the West Bank. The number arrested on Tuesday night was higher than usual.
Palestinians living in the village of Al-Asakira, east of Bethlehem reported that Israeli soldiers raided several houses in the community overnight. The soldiers detained Fahed Ibrahim Asakira, Raja’i Ahmad Asakira, Abed Yassin Asakira and Muhammad Da’oud Asakira. The detainees are being held in an unknown location.
In the village of Madama near Nablus, a member of the municipal government, Hassan Ziyadah said that Israeli soldiers entered the community at 2am and seized a 21-year-old Palestinian from his house. The detainees name was not given.
Ziyadah added that Israeli soldiers raided several houses while shooting heavily. The soldiers entered two houses, those own by Ma’rouf Al-Fahed and Muhannad Ziyadah, using ladders, the official said.
