Israeli warplanes strike Gaza

Gaza/Bethlehem – Ma’an – Israeli warplanes bombed the Gaza Strip in three locations early on Thursday, according to the country’s military and Palestinians in the coastal Strip.

A military spokesperson said the strikes targeted a “weapons manufacturing facility in the southern Gaza Strip and two smuggling tunnels in the Rafah border area.”

Sources in Gaza confirmed that two tunnels were bombed, in addition to a facility said to be operated by Hamas’ armed wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades.

Medics at Abu Yousef An-Najjar Hospital in Rafah, and the larger Nasser Hospital in the city of Khan Younis said however that no one was injured in the attacks.

The military spokesperson said that the strikes were successful, and were in response to the launch of what Israel terms “rockets” emanating from the Gaza Strip.

One of these rockets, a homemade projectile, was fired from Gaza into southern Israel on Wednesday morning, according to the military.

Also on Wednesday fighters affiliated with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) said they fired mortar shells at what they described as undercover Israeli forces near the Erez border crossing, in northern Gaza. The Israeli army said it was “unfamiliar” with the report.

Palestinians in the town of Beit Hanoun, near the crossing, however, said they came under Israeli fire, which killed a horse. The Israeli military also denied the shooting.

An Israeli spokesperson said that a roadside bomb exploded near a military patrol south of the Karni crossing point, causing no injuries.

Please stop terrorizing my family!! They live in Gaza, work in Gaza, trying to survive in Gaza - but Israel just can't let them sleep. It's not about "weapons factories". A homemade rocket was fired into Israel??? Of course no one was hurt. What about Israel's rockets?? Those are the real thing

More and more of us are hearing Diyaa and seeing. Israel is loosing trust and sympathy and deffenetly credibilety. They deny everthing they do and answere all critisism as anti-semetic. How can they possibly have credibilety?

Whenever Israel strikes Gaza, they strike the world..whenever they hurt a Palestinian, they hurt the world. You all should wake up and tell your people to do right and leave Israel alone. All Israel is trying to do is live in peace but you people have never wanted that. Hate and killing is what your people have done for hundreds of years. I pray for Israel and the peace that should have.

Linda, Why would any nation allow a weapons factory to be built weapons to attack it? What options are there? Rockets are fired into Israel aimed at familes there. Can those families sleep? Israel attacks weapons factories. Many of those in Gaza attack familes.

Of course Israel will retaliate when Hamas launches Qassam and Grad rockets into Israel. However, instead of launching missiles with no accuracy, Israel only tries raiding the factories that make these weapons and the tunnels that transport them.

Juile, are you saying you agree with Hamas' rocket fire into southern Israel? Suicide bombings decreased 90% when security checkpoints increased. I agree that Pal. should fight back, but they are instigating violence against a world power. Juile - do you agree with suicide bombings and rockets?
