Ramallah - Ma'an - Palestinian leaders will appoint Fatah Revolutionary Council and PLC member Dr Abdullah Abdullah the new ambassador of Palestine in Lebanon, sources told Ma'an.

Abdullah will replace member of the Fatah Central Committee Abbas Zaki. The administration also intends to replace the Fatah secretary in Lebanon, currently Sultan Abul Enein, who returned to the West Bank in August for the first time when he was elected to the Fatah leadership.

New regulations in Fatah say that Central Committee members cannot hold a government post.

Officials did not say who would replace Abul Enein, but said it would be someone from within the high ranks of the party, and the decision would be announced after the preparations for the diplomatic post were prepared.

The information comes as rumors in Lebanon about an upcoming trip by President Mahmoud Abbas to Beirut, where a report in Elaph newspaper said he was expected to propose issuing PA passports to Palestinian refugees in the country.
