Nablus – Ma’an – A Palestinian police officer was injured on Thursday in a fight with a member of the Palestinian National Security forces in Nablus.
Colonel Rashid Hamdan, the director of the Nablus police, told Ma’an that the fight erupted in the Rafedya area following an altercation between a member of the Palestinian police and a member of the Palestinian National Security forces. The police officer was moderately injured and was transferred to the Arab hospital in Nablus.
Hamdan stated that he ordered the Palestinian police to withdraw from the scene in order to ease the tension. The intelligence service is investigating the incident, he added.
Palestinian security sources told Ma’an that the Palestinian security forces announced that they have detained those who were suspected of being involved in the incident.
Other sources told Ma’an that Sa’id Abu Ali, the minister of interior, met with the directors of the security forces in Nablus who assured him that this was an isolated incident that was unrelated to the Palestinian security forces’ policies.
