Salfit – Ma’an – Two 16-year-old boys were among four detained by Israeli troops overnight, while dozens of citizens reported harassment at the hands of the invading soldiers.
Bil'in residents reported the invasion of Israeli soldiers into the village at 2am Tuesday morning. A statement from the local Popular Committee said approximately 50 soldiers entered the area on food accompanied by a dozen military vehicles.
A statement from the committee said solders "abducted Hamouda Imad Yassin (16) and Ibrahim Khalil Yassin (16) after searching their homes."
The two had just been released from Israeli prison, where they spent five months. "This is the latest in a series of raids and arrests that have continued in Bil'in [during] the last six months," the statement said.
Palestinian police confirmed the raid and detentions, noting several homes were invaded. The police statement quoted Popular Committee member Muhammad Al-Khatib as saying the "detention of locals and overrunning the village will not influence over people’s steadfastness to oppose the wall."
