Palestinian security sources said several Israeli vehicles stormed Nablus from the Huwwara military checkpoint at 1:30am, entering several neighborhoods and ultimately detaining Asid Al-Juneid from the Kamal Jenblat area, and Khalil Abdul Aziz Jebrin from Rafedia.
Beit Ummar
In the Bethlehem-area town of Beit Ummar, Spokesman of Palestinian solidarity project Muhammad Ayyad Awad said four were detained and the home of 60-year-old Muhsen Awad was raided, its owner beaten and his identity card stolen. After the beating, the man's 35-year-old son was detained.
According to Awad, soldiers also stole 800 shekels in cash from the home.
Three others were detained, identified as Jamal Ibrahim Ikhlil, 18, Allam Baraghith 18 and Muhammad Sleiby, 25.
Awad said the troops used dogs to search several homes near the village entrance, and remained in the area for four hours.
Ni'lin
A third raid overnight targeted the village of Ni'lin, north of Ramallah. According to the village's popular committee, the 3am military incursion was the 15th in the past month aimed at "apprehending Palestinian anti-Wall activists."
Anti-wall protest organizers said the "arrests are a continuation of a concerted assault on the popular struggle movement and its leadership."
Witnesses said dozens of Israeli soldiers entered the village, detaining Mustafa Amirah, 50, only after they could not locate his son. The committee did not identify the other two it said were detained.
