Al-Arish – Ma'an – Food aid from the United Arab Emirates entered Israel en route to Gaza on Thursday morning, including 500 tons of flour and 200 tons of sugar.
Omar Hadhud, Palestinian liaison officer at the Al-Oja commercial border between Israel and Egypt, 10 kilometers south of the Kerem Shalom crossing into Gaza, said the food aid was sent through with coordination from Israel.
Hadhud said there were 12 trucks of goods to be transported under the Qualified Industrial Zones agreement, signed in 2004 with US backing.
The aid will be transported into Gaza via the Kerem Shalom crossing at a later date.
