Bethlehem - Ma'an - Palestinians opened fire at an Israeli vehicle north of Ramallah late Friday, the Israeli military said, apparently in the same area where Israeli settlers allegedly killed a Palestinian teenager a day earlier.

Two Israeli civilians were lightly injured by shattered glass, a military spokesman said. Forces were searching the area, he said.

Fatah's armed wing said its forces opened fire on a car belonging to settlers near the Ramallah junction at 6:45pm. The Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades said its forces confirmed a direct hit on the vehicle's occupants.

The attack came in response to the murder of a Palestinian boy by Israeli settlers the day before, the group said in a statement. It also amounted to a rejection of the start of indirect peace talks, the statement said.

The teenager allegedly shot dead by settlers late Thursday was identified Friday as Ayssar Yasser Al-Zaben, 16. Security sources said the teenager was shot after throwing stones at his attackers' car on Highway 60.

Palestinian medical sources said Al-Zaben's body was found three hours after he died. An examination at the Government Hospital in Ramallah revealed that he was killed by a single shot in the upper back, penetrating his heart, medical officials said. The teenager bled to death, medics said.

Israeli military sources confirmed finding the boy's body. These sources confirmed that shots were fired in the area, as well as reports that children were throwing rocks at settler cars, but did not blame settlers.

For to long the Palestinians have suffered at the hands of these trigger happy European settlers, who with the assistance of the Israeli army can take a life without reprucussion. It should not be the case. It's about time the settlers realise that their evil actions will have consequences!

PA Security and the IDF have to put a lid on things. Both need to move in force to corral their own people and lock down the area. Both the PA and IDF need to confiscate all weapons in the area and test them, both for the shooting at the car and the murder of the boy. The situation seems ripe to spiral out of control. Examples need to be made - stern examples by each side of its own people.

The Palestinians should always respond like this. This will lead to the elimination of settler terror against innocent Palestinians, especially children.

Sherezade,
Settlers weren't "Trigger Happy", they were unhappy because rocks were being thrown at them

You should have been there, maybe you would appreciate the damage a rock can do if one were to hit you

Meanwhile, I'm staill waiting for you to name the Sura's, why the hesitancy, don't they exist??

4 ) BEN JABO / ISRAEL/USA Of course you would understand these trigger happy barbaric killer settlers your an IDF coward to. As I have reiterated many a times & will do once again your knowledge from radical jihad watch groups is just as childish as your constant narrative. Once again READ the holy Qur'an & the Hadith which is integral to the Qur'an, since they are inseparably linked to each other. It is impossible to understand the Qur'an without reference to Hadith especially Sura Al Isra !

Ben Jabo - Shooting a kid in the back is premeditated murder. That doesn't excuse the Al Aqsa retaliation either. But when he turned his back to run or even if he was a bystander, the intent of the settlers shots was to kill.

The "kid" throwing rocks was engag3ed in an act of premeditated murder, something he shouldn't have attempted
If the "kid", I know why you use that phrase, it's a vain attempt to portray him as a child
Even under American law, if he's 14 or older in most jurisdictions, he would be treated as an adult, according to the severity of the crime
You haven't the foggiest idea of what the settlers intention were, you've never been anywhere near the actions

Ever hear of Molotov Cocktails?

The rocks the so-called kid threw could just have been a grenade or Molotov

Throw a rock at your local cop, let me know how you make out, if you survive the response

My of my, you're such an expert, never having been there, never intending to go, commenting on everything you never experienced

The fact that the rocks were intended to hit the car and maim or kill anything inside seems to have eluded you
