NABLUS (Ma'an) -- A 26-year-old Palestinian from Nablus said Israeli soldiers ordered him to remove his shirt and then confiscated it on Sunday.

Nader Rezeq Dweikat said he was walking near his home in Beta village to get fuel for his tractor when three soldiers in a military jeep stopped him.

"Initially I thought they wanted to check my identity card, but they said 'We do not want your ID card, just take off your shirt.' I thought I misunderstood, but they repeated their order, 'Take off your shirt,' and I did so under force, they seized my shirt and immediately left the area, they didn't ask me about anything else," he said.

An Israeli military spokesman was not familiar with the incident, but said Dweikat was welcome to file a complaint.

You know, Israelis taking shirts off of Palestinian backs -- at gunpoint no less -- is really, really bad for dispelling anti-Semitic stereotypes. It's like Israel is using forgeries like the Elder Protocols crap as an instruction manual!

To Christopher #1 You miss the key point: this was done to a Palestinian. One of the key elements in Israeli behavior is the two images. For the outside world, there's about Israel is a democracy, seeks peace, is egalitarian, etc. It's pretty obvious crap, but they shovel it out anyway. Lies, even when they are recognized, offer a certain degree of protection. For the Palestinians, though, it's the mailed fist. They WANT them to recognize the oppression -- and to feel it.

Apartheid Israel should consider having its army recruits mentally evaluated before enlisting them, since the IDF is always in the news for stealing. Maybe some of these IDF kleptomanics could receive psychiatric treatment before given a gun and entrusted to police Arabs and Palestinians.
It would be laughable that the IDF is gaining so much notoriety for its stealing if Arab and Palestinian lives were not endangered by these lunatics, and their possessions not in danger or being stolen.

The picture in this posting doesn't match the story. We are told that a 26 year old adult had his shirt confiscated. In the picture there is a small boy in a truck apparently crying or upset about something. Before we all jump to conclusions, how do we know that Nader Rezeq Dweikat didn't make up his story? How do we know who confiscated it? Are there witnesses? You need to consider that there are things that you don't know you don't know.
