TULKAREM (Ma’an) -- Israeli forces entered areas in the northern West Bank on Wednesday morning, entering several homes to question civilians and delivering summons orders to others.

The raids came in addition to two confirmed detentions in Nablus.

In Tulkarem, Palestinian security officials said the homes of Ala Salah Yassin, Ashraf Sareedy, and Basem Al-Hamshary were entered by Israeli intelligence officials and the men of the homes were questioned extensively.

To the south of the city in the Irtah suburb, soldiers handed out summons to several civilians, calling them to appear before intelligence officials at the At-Tayba checkpoint, where a flying checkpoint was installed the day before and several officers spotted checking identity cards of travelers.

Two of those handed summons were identified as Mahmud Tayeh and Muhammad Aj-Jallad.

In Nablus, Israeli troops entered the Al-Nasariyah village north of the city and broke into two homes there, where they took photos of the building and its residents, police officials said.

One of the homes invaded was that of Fawwaz Al-Wahidi, a 36 year-old police officer in the Nablus district. He told Ma’an that more than 20 Israeli soldiers entered his home just after 3 a.m. after they surrounded the building. During the invasion his brother and wife were handcuffed and cordoned off in one room.

The invading soldiers had blackened faces, he said, and stayed in the home for nearly an hour, taking Palestinian flags and pictures of the president off the walls during their stay.

The ID numbers of the men in the home were registered, Al-Wahidi said, and photos taken of each family member. When they left his home, he added, he believed that they entered the home of his neighbor, the 50-year-old imam of the local mosque, Mahmoud Abu Rwies.
