TEL AVIV, Israel (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces and paramedics saved the life of a Palestinian woman and her newly born infant Wednesday, at the settlement where five members of a family were murdered, news reports said.

The illegal settlement of Itamar was the site of a brutal murder Friday during which five members of the same family were killed, including three children. Israeli officials have blamed Palestinians for the attack.

But on Wednesday, paramedics told the Israeli news site Ynet that a Palestinian taxi arrived at the settlement with a woman giving birth but facing complications.

"When I arrived, I saw a woman covered by a blanket in a yellow Palestinian van. I moved closer and saw the baby's head and upper body," said army medic Haim Levin. "The umbilical cord was around the baby's neck; the baby was grey and didn't move."

"I first removed the cord from the neck and at the same time asked paramedics to prepare the baby resuscitation kit. I pinched her to see if she's responding, and she started to cry," Levin said.

Paramedics also treated the mother, who was in good condition at that point, Levin said.

Ambulance driver Orly Shlomo described the scene: "We joined the military paramedic and helped him cut off the umbilical cord … without the medical treatment, the fetus and woman faced genuine life danger."

Yes very convenient, not in the last place for the Palestinian mother and child. I understand your distrust but I do believe that there are people with their hearts in the right place on both sides. So please do not lose all trust in the human kind.

Strange story... No details.
Where was the woman from, which village? What was her name? Was she alone or was her husband or family member with her? Why did the taxi end up in Itamar?
Anyway, I wish mother and baby good health.

The story is appearing on a Palestinian site. What's your point ?

Story sounds rather fishy. Ma'an is reporting the story from other news reports, but needs to interview the birth mother or some witnesses to authenicate the story. Can't image the racist, mean, half crazy, mentally ill Jew settlers allowing a Palestinian mother and baby to leave their illegal settlement alive. Afterall, the mad dog jew settlers have a history of burning and killing Palestinians, including infants and young children.

Fortunately the Palestinian taxi was not attacked by IDF and squatters, before knowing the circumstance of the occupants. There is a beautiful photo of a young Israeli soldier, 19yr old Haim Levin, nursing the newly born Palestinian baby at YNet News "IDF, settlers save Arab baby" " "They thanked us and told us they named the girl Jude," Corporal Levin said http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4043536,00.html With such individual goodness, one State solution would be workable. Yes?

Ilhamdullah! Oh come on guys. I am not Israel's best friend, even at the best of times, but if this is true, it shows how things should be. Would you have been more satisfied if the story had gone more like: 'Israeli paramedics refuse to save dying newborn of Palestinian lady in labour'? It goes to show that there is good and bad on both sides. True or not, this is an example of behaviour we should see more of from both sides Arab and Jew. God bless them all.

Not only did Israel blame Palestinian's for the attack
Palestinian's confessed to doing it

The confession appeared in Ma'an on March 12

I wish that you had the courage to come and help your people, instead of remaining in the UK pretending to be concerned

Israel uses her ambulances for mercy missions, you guys use them to transport arms & terrorists, quite a contrast in useage

What I have noticed is that those pro-Palestinian posters on this site, do all their protesting from vary safe distances

They're so concerned, they've never bothered to lift a finger to help out,
all they do is type

My aunt who lives in Abud (nearby Ramallah) once got severe chest pains. Realising she didn't have enough time to make it to the hospital in Ramallah she had someone drive her to the nearby Jewish settlement where she was treated. Happy ending for all.
As far as Palestinians not lifting a finger to help themselves I always thought it strange how half of the world Jewry would rather stay away from Israel than live there. At least 80% of Palestinians live in and around historical Palestine.

"80% of Palestinians live in and around historical Palestine," Esam. Wish you were right. How come the (inflated) number of Palestinian refugees numbers 5 or 6 million then? I guess, according to you, then, the number of Palestinian refugees as counted by mideastern "experts" is totally false.

Glad to hear we could help your aunt out
If all the Jews wanted to live in our land, then all your people would have to move elsewhere

Do you have any factual statistics that will back up your to the 80%, etc?
Please answer a couple of questions, who were the Rulers of your Palestine, what were it's territorial boundaries in the old days ?
Do you have any ancient Palestinian coins that I'm able to see, just give a reference, I'll find them

What a black white coloured world some people life in. Talking like that about jewish settlers, you talk about jews like they are some animals. Really mature. Let's talk about the people who killed 2 weeks ago 3 children and their parents in the Itamar massacre. Or did you forget about that Marge? You know, reading your comments and others here, only shows the face of people who wouldn't let peace be.
