GAZA CITY (Ma’an) -- The spokesman of Fatah's military wing on Tuesday denied issuing a statement marking Osama bin Laden's death.

Abu Uday of the Al-Aqsa Brigades said the group did not and had no plans to comment because bin Laden's death was unrelated to Palestine.

He said a statement received by Ma'an's Gaza City office must have been forged as the armed group "doesn't know anything about it."

The statement issued in Al-Aqsa's name said the group was "shocked with the news that bin Laden had been killed by the non-believers." "The fighters in Palestine and around the world ... did not stop their mission," it said.

Palestinian reactions to the death of bin Laden have been mixed.

Salam Fayyad, the premier in Ramallah, said it increased chances for peace, while Gaza-based prime minister Ismail Haniyeh condemned it as an extension of American's foreign policy based on killing.

Abu Uday of the Al-Aqsa Brigades is both a coward and a liar, by saying that "the group did not and had no plans to comment", since bin Laden (may G-d torment all murderiung souls) himself said that his murderous actions were "related to Palestine" !!!

Bin Laden was a fanatic who exploited any cause. A free Palestine is a legitimate cause. Bin Laden's extremism was not legitimate but he leached on to just causes to give his blood thirsty acts some kind of fake legitimacy. Palestine, don't be fooled by blood thirsty false messiahs. Your freedom has NOTHING to do with evil men like Bin Laden. Extremism, whether distorted Islamic or distorted Jewish has been the bane of Palestine.

Good. Time is for art of words not weappon. I know your name is merely about readiness to die in protecting Holy place but you can a bit update it. Swedes suffers of huge troubles for you are on US terror list. This country is a new home for many. One should make things eassier where it goes. I know you are all familiar people full of respect for older, ill, friends. Show it in full light

Haniyeh makes it clear that no unified Palestinian state will be recognized by the USA nor the western state of Europe. The chief global terrorist has been killed (assassinated) and this gives us reason for optimism but Hamas, given its inveterate hatred of Israel and the West, has shown iots true colours once again. No recognition of a terrorist Palestinian state, not by Israel, not by the USA and not by western European states.

Ireland will recgonise Palestine when it is declared in September. Ireland is a western democratic state, unlike Israel which is not democratic and not based on western values but on 1800s east and central european ethnic-chauvinist ideology long since abandoned in Europe.

So Palestine need not worry that the ethnic chauvinist state of Israel doesn't recognise it, the overwhelming majority of democratic countries of asia, europe and south america most certainly will
