BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- An Israeli organization has announced plans to bring more than 2,500 Jewish Americans and Canadians to Israel this summer, as it seeks to resettle the new arrivals in areas with high Palestinian populations.

The organization, Nefesh B'nefesh, which promotes Aliyah, or Jewish-only immigration to Israel, said it would cooperate with the Jewish Agency and Israel's migration ministry to arrange for the new arrivals, the organization's website said.

The first group of 245 immigrants is set to land on Tuesday, July 12 at Ben Gurion airport in Israel, the organization said.

Nefesh B'nefesh recently launched a project encouraging the resettlement of immigrants in the northern region of Israel where there is a high concentration of Palestinians, a step observers say is an attempt to change the demographic features of the area.

The Palestinian population of Israel constitutes roughly 20 percent of the country.

As the proclaimed state of the Jewish people, Palestinian Arabs remain second-class citizens in Israel, according to rights organizations.

The Palestinian population of Israel constitutes roughly 20 percent of the Jewish State, &
The "settler" population of the West Bank constitutes roughly 20 percent of what may some day become a Palestinian State !!

Israeli Arabs are NOT second class citizens in Israel, where they have full work, education, voting, and even are part of the government, while the Palestinian government outlaws land sales to Jews, seeks to deport them, and takes NO action against those that murder them !!!

If they are actually bringing 2500 immigrants from the US and Canada in the first place, 90% of them will be losers and malcontents who won't stay more than six months. So it's 250 immigrants. Meanwhile, 500 native Israeli Jews will have pulled up sticks and moved to the US or Western Europe. ...and the Palestinians who have always been there will have had quite a few more children. Israel is an inherently unsustainable proposition. Fortunately. It's nice to see evil unable to prevail.

To 'The Truth #1: 'Israeli Arabs are NOT second class citizens in Israel...' Oh but they are. They receive a fifth as much per capita for education, they are taught that their land belongs by right to others, they are legally barred from buying most property, and it is effectively a misdemeanor for a Jew to kill them. One was actually sentenced to prison for miscegenation last year. They rank somewhere below Blacks under Jim Crow but above Jews in Nazi Germany.

Settlers just grab land in the West Bank. Palestinian Israelis always lived on their land, which was renamed as "Israel". Would love to see Palestinians left free to settle in Tel Aviv, West Jerusalem and wherever they have been displaced from in the first place... ideally not carrying machine guns and defended by some army whatever they do but for the sake of 'equality' that might also be necessary.

Thanks for the statistics and the usual lies Tobias, but what have you got to say about Israel encouraging Americans and Canadians to come and squat in areas where they know they are helping Israel to change the demographic features of the area?
Shame on these people, I hope they are proud of themselves and will be very happy in their subsidised housing.

Saying Israeli Arabs have the same rights as Jewish citizens is a lie. Palestinians are subject to worse prejudicial treatment than black Americans in the south of the US before civil rights. On paper Black Americans had same rights as White Americans. Israeli police have used live ammunition on peacefully protesting Israeli Arabs. On at least 2 occasions Israel has killed more than 12 Palestinians with no provocation. This does not include the massacres of Palestinians in 48.

to colin and carlos 1) I don t know how meny times you'v been to galili (north israel) but arabs there are full israeli citizens (not palestinians) with same rights they vote, study in same uni's and many of them even serve in the israeli army (voluntary service, since unlike us they dont have to serve). 2) the erea is not in west bank, so we are entitled to bring who ever we want!
