GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Palestinians in Gaza have been breaking their daily fast in darkness this Ramadan due to an electricity crisis in the coastal enclave.

Gaza's energy authority said the blackouts were caused by a faulty power line from Israel.

Officials in Gaza said Israeli authorities were stalling maintenance of the line.

Gaza's electricity company said it was working to provide power to the worst affected areas in the west of the Gaza Strip.

Because in Paris economic agreement (part of Oslo accords) Israel INSISTED that all power imports would come from Israel; the PA has complied. Now there is a situation where Israel prevents Gaza from trading with other countries, yet imposes severe restrictions on trade coming from the agreed channels. What do you make of that Mr. bear?
