GAZA CITY (Ma’an) -- The armed wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine said its forces launched two rockets toward the southern Israeli city of Ashkelon late Friday.

The Abu Ali Mustapha Brigades said in a statement that it rejected "any truce with the occupation" and would not abandon resistance. The leftist faction called for unity and more attacks on Israeli targets.

The group took responsibility for another rocket several hours earlier. None of the most recent attacks caused damage or injuries, the Israeli news site Ynet reported.

The Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades said it fired the rocket in response to "Israeli crimes."

The group was the only armed faction in the Gaza Strip to reject a short-lived ceasefire deal agreed Sunday by Hamas and others. Hamas' armed wing and militants aligned with Islamic Jihad had agreed.

Two members of Islamic Jihad's military wing were then killed in an Israeli attack days later; the barrage of airstrikes and rockets launched from Gaza shattered the ceasefire.

A new ceasefire was declared early Friday by Islamic Jihad following the renewed violence.

What is the point of any truce with an enemy bent on the destruction of a people? To give them time to build their "Iron Dome" defense? As long as Gaza remains under siege, a truce is not helpful to the struggle; it may bring short-term relief from Israeli bombardment, but Israel will resume its decimation of the captive population once its built up its defenses. It seems like a case of damned if you do and damned if you don't..

What's with this "Armed Wing" nonsense, are you trying to tell us that one hand doesn't know what the other is doing ?

I have one basic question, how many men are in one of your Brigades, 5, 10, 15, 20, you name it

Ben, there are enough men in the brigades to ensure that as long as an entire population is under siege and collective punishment, its oppressors will not sleep very well at night. As long as there is injustice, there will definitely be resistance; its a very simple equation that you might eventually understand..

3) they're not trying to protect anyone. In fact, the army of Hamas and the other "militants" choose their battle ground to be in the middle of civilian neighborhoods in order to purposely ensure that when Israelis strike back they kill unarmed men, women, and children. That's not considered protecting anyone!

Israel must stop their attacks & aggression on Gaza.

And then they will whine and play victim when they receive an Israeli response. Nothing brave or noble about shooting rockets amongst their own civilians.

"benjabo about 6 miliion"
Lewis, that just another tale from the Arabian Nightmare, a Brigade averages about 5000 men, one thing is for certain, none of outfits have anywhere that amount of manpower

Oh, we do understand, just as long as you continue to antagonize us with your attacks, you may continue to expect our justified responses, you are the anvil, we are the hammer, well keep on pounding away
