The chair was taken on a world tour before arriving at the UN on Thursday.
NEW YORK (Ma'an) -- A hand-crafted UN chair for Palestine ended its world tour at the United Nations headquarters in New York on Thursday, the campaign's organizers said.

At a news conference, coordinator of the Palestine Deserves campaign Basim al-Masri asked the UN chief of staff to deliver a message to Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon that Palestine deserves freedom and to live in peace and security in an independent state.

"Palestinians will not stay at the back of the bus," al-Masri said, according to a statement.

The chair toured capitals in the Middle East and Europe before arriving at its final destination, in a campaign to support the Palestinian bid for full membership of the UN.

The olive-wood chair, fashioned in air-force blue to look like the seats at the United Nations, was hand-made by 35 men in Jenin in the northern West Bank in hopeful anticipation of the state of Palestine gaining a seat in the world body.

Bravo guys! No more "back of the bus",in the non-Jewish non-Zionist section of alienation &discrimination. This chair says,"Palestinians no longer sit at ANYONE else's feet". Palestine sits at eye level for mutually respectful dialogue with multilateral leaders, negotiating in the language of international rule of law. No man or nation/state is above that law.Don't forget Cameron,at 10 Downing Street-he likes 'blue'? Go Palestine! 64 yrs! Long overdue &well deserved after what Isrl's put U thru'

The US is allowing the President of Iran to speak, and some object him renting a room in a hotel. President Assad will speak at the UN and the US will grant him his VIP status after that ruthless SOB killed thousands of his people. But when it comes to the Palestinians to ask the UN for an independent state, the US will veto and Israel is threatning for "Dire consequences" for their request. Something is definitely wrong with this picture.

The USG has no right to stop anyone speaking at the UN,good or bad. It's amazing how Zionists squeal about Syria's 'crimes",when it was a useful "ally' B4, & all stayed silent 4 their own purposes.Same with torturer Hosni? If any State needs to be thrown out of UN & tried at the Hague, under Nuremberg Principles? It's Zionist Israel, with USG collusion. Democracy means all have the right to speak & B heard & the all can object&vote. Israel's offered nada BUT "dire" blahblah,as policy, since 1948.
