Police arrest 13 over unpaid debts

JENIN (Ma'an) -- Police launched a crackdown on Monday on residents of Jenin with unpaid debts.

A police statement said five of the detainees were seized in Jenin city by the executive unit of Jenin police station, while eight others were detained by local police in the Arraba, Meithalun, Al-Yamun and Jaba villages.

Muhammad Tayyim, the director of Jenin district police, said the authorities would make sure all instructions regarding warrants and court orders were implemented in order to protect citizens' rights and freedoms.
