SALFIT (Ma’an) -- Settlers on Wednesday set up outpost homes on village land in the Salfit district of the northern West Bank, a local official said.

Iskaka village council head Nabil Harris told official news agency Wafa that bulldozers razed land between Yasuf village and Iskaka, before settlers arrived and set up four mobile homes.

On Tuesday, Israeli media reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was seeking ways to legalize unauthorized settlement outposts on private Palestinian land.

Israel considers settlement outposts built in the West Bank without government approval to be illegal, and often sends security personnel to demolish them. They usually consist of little more than a few trailers.

The international community considers all settlements built in the occupied West Bank, including annexed East Jerusalem, to be illegal.

How can the Israeli government claim to to consider the unauthorised settlelemens to be illegal if they provide army & police support and also provide financial assistance.

Illegal settlements in the west Bank break the terms of the 4th Geneva Convention, set-up following the Nazi occupation of Western and Eastern Europe.

Ma'an, you're wearing out the photo, as well as the story line

"Private Palestinian Land", how come nobody ever seems to have the paper work to prove it ?

Just because you've plunked yourselves down on the land doesn't mean it's yours

How about showing me where Palestine is mentioned in the Koran
I've asked numerous times, the result has been virtualy totall silence

Ben,You complain about the photo and the story-line, but you can't run away from the facts - could it be that you are ashamed and embarrassed to be reminded that you are stealing and occupying someone else's land, someone who has lived there since long before your great-grand-daddy was a twinkle in his daddy's eye?
