BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- A United Nations Special Rapporteur said Sunday that Israel is systematically implementing a discriminatory policy of housing and planning in Israel, East Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank.

"From the Galilee and the Negev to East Jerusalem and the West Bank, the Israeli authorities promote a territorial development model that excludes, discriminates against and displaces minorities, particularly affecting Palestinian communities," Professor Raquel Rolnik, UN rapporteur on the right to adequate housing, said on Sunday.

During a two week visit to Israel and the occupied West Bank, Rolnik has met with both Israeli and Palestinian Authority officials, together with international agencies and local NGOs, a statement said.

Speaking at the conclusion of her trip, Rolnik said she had witnessed the effect of Israeli policies in East Jerusalem which "severely restrict Palestinians from building legally."

"Israel has not provided Palestinians with the necessary planning framework to ensure that their basic housing and infrastructure needs are met," she added.

The UN rapporteur also slammed Israeli policies in the West Bank where a "Palestinian presence was progressively limited in parallel to a disproportional support to the expansion of Jewish communities."

Bedouin communities in the Negev and Jewish settlements in Area C and in Palestinian neighborhoods in East Jerusalem are the "new frontiers of dispossession of the traditional inhabitants, and the implementation of a strategy of Judaization and control of the territory," Rolnik said.

A report detailing all findings of her mission will be presented to the UN Human Rights Council in 2013.

1- Since a UN General Asembly "slam" of Israeli policy has little weight, neither a UN rapporteur, nor a PLO, "slam" has any weight at all, 2- Israel is NOT systematically implementing any policy at all throughout ALL THE WEST BANK (just annexed Jerusalem & Area C), and 3- If the PLO wishes to change Israeli policies, it will have to follow through with the promises it made and signed in the Oslo Accords, and reach A Negotiated Settlement With Israel !!!

This is "the only democracy". Minorities are invented according to Newt Gingrich. No use to criticize Israel for they don't care and don't mind. Professor Raquel Rolnik should criticize the "protectors and advocates of human rights" who encourage Israel to violate every Palestinian human rights. Oh! Sorry! May be I am wrong for Palestinians are invented. Lol.

in 2013, huh. well jeeze, don't hurry or anything. i mean it's not like there's no unspeakable suffering and catastrophic human tragedy on a DAILY basis from zionazi terrorism. this is a joke. the situation is so extremely critical, she should demand AN EMERGENCY SESSION of the UN to STOP this. who can blame iran for wanting to stop these nazi terrorists and their crimes?

The UN really has "bigger fish to fry", like the on-going genocide in Syrian, and even if they didn't, and even if they could get around a USA veto,
"AN EMERGENCY SESSION of the UN to STOP this" would be a foolish
over-reaction, much like if zoos started shooting Lions to kill their flees !!!

Yes!Yes! Prof! But don't waste our time & your salary sheepishly reading the Zionist "preferred thesaurus" of diplo-speak! 'SLAM' is meaningless. Demand that Israel BE PROSECUTED IN THE HAGUE under the Nuremberg Principles FOR WAR CRIMES(collective punishment of civilians etc),CRIMES AGAINST THE PEACE,&UNIVERSAL HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSES,along with all Israel's Zionist collaborators in USG!Would u have just "slammed" Nazi's who gassed Rolnik children in the death camps,in WW2? NO! So! PROSECUTE ISRAEL!

Palestinians should submit their complains to UNESCO, Arab League, Organization of Islamic States, Free people of the world, Vatican, International Olympic Committee, FIFA, Anyone who is not tired yet of palestinian’s complains and demands and would listen to them. Did I forget someone? By the way I can not recall UN rapporteur and UN General Assembly condemning palestinians for launching anti-tank missiles into school buses last year. It is not too late to do it if they want to gain credibility

"Demand" is just as meaningless as "slam", and
besides the result would be Israeli "Self-Defense" !!
- Is that really what you want to prove ??

On the other hand, the whole world should Demand that Hamas and Hezbollah "BE PROSECUTED IN THE HAGUE FOR WAR CRIMES, of attacking and intentionally targeting Israeli civilians, and they would be found guilty !!

I live in Australia. Why does no one complain about the government Australianising western areas of Sydney when they open up a new residential area for building? What kind of insane nonsense is it to complain of Israel Judaising its country when it is a Jewish national homeland? The very term 'Judaising' has ominous Nazi and Catholic Medieval reverberations.

8) Maybe when Israels neighbors get nuclear weapons they will be able to target military installations and soldiers in Israel only. Any innocent civilians unintentionally hurt would be collateral damage right? Disgusting.
