NABLUS (Ma'an) -- Wild boars on Sunday damaged farm land near Salfit, farmers said.

Farmers told Ma'an the boars damaged apricot trees, wheat crops and seedlings. They said the boars were released onto their land by settlers.

Residents and local officials in the area have for several years complained that settlers release pigs, which have caused injuries and destroy land in the rural communities.

The Applied Research Institute - Jerusalem says that while Israel claims it cannot control the wild boar population in the area, and the purposeful release of pigs cannot be confirmed, Israel's separation wall has pushed the animals to search for new habitats.

..now finally ...this is something i know about...two ways tofight them...1..set fence traps...build a temp fence...wooden boards useing wire will do...then bait the area...say 100 sq ft....when the boars go in ..drop or close the gate....the moving of the bait springs the door or gate..or just watch from 50 or so ft and run over to close the gate..the other, to run them down and shoot them use hounds...ploots are best...need to kevlar vest the dogs....the traps work best...g-luck

How appropriate! Wild colonists keeping wild boars! SYMBIOTIC WHAT? Are the Zionist colonists STILL rolling flaming balls of oil-covered hay too, down the Arab farmers lanes,& shooting them when they come out to PUT OUT THE FIRES? Like in 1935? Remind me again, which are the wildest? The Boars?Or the Zionists? Savage Boarists!

Are these pigs under the protection of the IDF as well, or can they be shot?

To johnny benson #1 '...run them down and shoot them use hounds...ploots are best...need to kevlar vest the dogs...' I can see the guns and the dogs -- but I suspect most of the predators are too wily for traps. Also, so long as they enjoy the protection of the IDF, more surreptitious means are going to need to be employed.

Wild boars "released onto their lands by settlers" ... again ? Last year, M. Abbas himself, in Ramallah, alluded to that figment of palestinian propaganda before going to the UN. Which tells volume about the sorry state of palestinian politis ...

To johnny benson #6: '...colin...wild boars are not wily...they are afraid of nothing..traps work...' Sorry. I seem to have been too obscure for you. I was implying that all settlers are pigs and should be treated as such.
