Zahhar: Israeli borders will disappear

GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Hamas leader Mahmoud al-Zahhar on Wednesday said a new era of civilization was dawning in which borders created by Israel will disappear.

Israel's borders are not determined by nationality or identity, al-Zahhar said in a speech at the headquarters of the Palestinian Legislative Council.

Welcoming activists from the latest Miles of Smiles convoy, al-Zahhar said the PLC building would become "the capital of the great Islamic nations."

The council headquarters were established when Gaza was under Egyptian control, and later transferred to the Israeli military governor, al-Zahhar said.

Israel bombed the PLC building during its 2008 offensive on Gaza, Operation Cast Lead.

"Our project isn't extreme Islamism, it's a relationship between humans together and a relationship that resists corruption and occupation and dependency.

"Relations with the world are based on permanence and justice and not clashing civilizations."

More proof that Palestinians are unable to sign a peace treaty, and may not even be interested in one. With unity talks continuing between Hamas and Fatah, peace-loving people everywhere have to scratch their heads about Zahar saying "Israel's borders are not determined by nationality or identity". Of course Israel is a nation and identified with the Jewish people. Zahar continues to promote the racist Hamas doctrine of war with the goal of genocide.

@ Brian - what a strange name for a Native ! 1. Mahmoud az-Zahar is not representing the Palestinians. He's a hardliner even within Hamas. It's normal: his sons were killed by the Israeli army. 2. Who says he's not endorsing the One State solution ? I am, and as Az-Zahar I hope the Israeli borders will fall. 3. Why do you paranoid nutcases always have to speak about "genocide". You should go see a shrink. Nobody listens to your nonsense any longer.

but we know how their brief fight ended, and whose fame increased, and
we all know that surely it is Zahhar that "will disappear" instead of Israel !!

I believe Mr. Al Zahhar is too slow. Israel borders disappear long time ago while they building settlements. If Israel stop building they will tell the world, okay, that's Israel and that is Palestine. But they wont, because they can't, accept a Palestinian State side by side, so its consequences Israel will not have no borders
