Russian President Vladmir Putin visits Bethlehem

BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Bethlehem on Tuesday morning for a brief meeting with his Palestinian counterpart Mahmoud Abbas.

Putin arrived with a delegation of 400 Russian politicians, journalists, and business people, amid tight security on the streets of the West Bank city.

The president visited the Nativity Church, believed to be Jesus' birthplace, before attending the opening of a Russian cultural center in the city.

The Palestinian Authority announced it is naming one of Bethlehem's main road after Putin to commemorate his visit.

Putin will meet with President Abbas before traveling on to Jordan.

The Russian president's assistant for international affairs Yuri Ushakov said the leaders will focus on ways to resolve the conflict between Israel and Palestine, and address the division between parties ruling Gaza and the West Bank, Abbas' Fatah and Hamas.

The Russian president wants to "focus on ways to resolve the conflict between Israel and Palestine", but Israel exists, and Palestine does NOT.

Palestine will NOT ever exist either, unless Putin, and other world leaders, make it clear to Abbas, that the World can NOT stop Israel settlement construction, any more than it can stop Hamas rockets, so either:
ABBAS WILL REACH AN AGREEMENT DURING SETTLEMENT CONSTRUCTION,
OR no agreement will be reached, and NO PALESTINE WILL BE CREATED !!!

numbers 2 and 3 are spreading lies, I have been there, and it is only a very small minority of palestinians that are rich. You have conveniently forgotten the majority who live in terror and poverty. Putin and abbas should go and play golf somewhere like all the other stupid men who wear suits and make decisions about people they do not know or understand. Peace will come but it will not be given to us by men like that, it will come when the masses on all sides realize that we are all one tribe
