GAZA CITY (Ma’an) -- The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine on Monday condemned an attack in the Egyptian Sinai which left 15 police officers dead, a statement said.
The PFLP, and its military wing the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, said that Egyptian blood is as valuable as Palestinian blood, and the Sinai attack can not be accepted by the Palestinian people.
The statement said that the attack was suspicious, but called on all sides for restraint until more details about the incident are uncovered.
Gunmen killed at least 15 Egyptian police officers on Sunday in an attack on a barracks in the Sinai before trying to breach the Israeli border, security officials said.
Israel said its aircraft had fired on one of the commandeered vehicles and that the other had exploded at the border crossing. Israeli forces were combing the area and some of the militants had been killed, the Israeli army said.
Gaza's Hamas rulers condemned the attack, which took place near the border crossing where the Egyptian, Israeli and Gazan frontiers converge.
