The incident was blamed on settlers near Nablus.
NABLUS (Ma'an) -- A group of Jewish settlers tried to set fire to a Palestinian home near Nablus early Tuesday morning, a Palestinian Authority official said.

Settlers from the Hafad Gilad illegal outpost attacked Farid Tawil's home in Farata village, said Ghassan Doughlas, who monitors settlement activity in the northern West Bank.

They tried to set fire to Tawil's home, which is at the entrance to the village, but Tawil and his family woke up and manage to stop them, Doughlas added.

On Thursday, five Palestinians were seriously injured when settlers hurled a firebomb at their car near Bethlehem. Two four-year-old children suffered first-degree burns in the incident, which Israel's vice-premier Moshe Yaalaon described as "an act of terrorism."

Settlers are rarely prosecuted for acts of violence against Palestinians.

Again, these Israelite terrorists from Hafad Gilad must be arrested, prosecuted and punished for arson, destruction of property and attempted murder. All damage to the Palestinian home and family must be fully repaired and compensated for and full monetary/economic restitution must be paid to Farid Tawil's household. Had I been there I would have definitely helped stopped this crime.

Thank you Yehuda for speaking out against injustice! You are right, justice and rule of law must apply to everyone - Israeli, Palestinian, American, or anything else. Humans are humans and we must all stand together to stop extremists on all sides from fueling the fire and escalating the violence!

#1 how nice of you to offer assistance, albeit hypothetical at best, but why not be a real man and take responsibility for the true primary, original crime, which the entire world agrees on, settlers are illegal, thus are squats criminally trespassing. see, if you did take responsibility, none of these secondary acts of terrorist crime would happen in the first place. Pals would be free on their own land. INTERNATIONAL LAW STANDS, any & all israeli incursion is ILLEGAL criminal trespassing.

I was in tel aviv and yafa yesterday. It was amazing to say the least.Israel let more Palestinians in than normal. Must watching the people have a great time was great, what was even better was Palestinians and Israelis mix together peacefully was even more amazing. This can work, two people one chutney. Believe it our not, they need each purge. Justeconomical aspect helped the economy in Israel last night.

@ 3) Julie/USA, I already am a real man and you've been here long enough to know my position: First, it's about time everybody understand the Israelites in the W. Bank--and that includes eastern (not "EAST") Jerusalem--aren't settlers anymore. They're the same as we who live in Tel Aviv, Haifa or anywhere else in Greater Israel. Second, our sacred Torah laws are VERY clear on how we relate to the Palestinians in Greater Israel. Until they permanently leave--which, yes, they (cont.)

eventually WILL do--all of Greater Israel they are not to be harmed but treated respectfully and with justice (basically, just as us). They are considered "strangers" (roughly translated as "resident aliens") in Israel. So I and all other decent Israelites condemn all terrorist acts against them. You Americans must understand that Israel is NOT meant to be a secular democracy like you. That works well for you and it damn well better because you Americans NEED to have a separation of (cont.)

"church" (religion) and "state" (government) or all your citizens and their different "religions" would be fighting each other over proper federal laws and governance. That's why your Constitution says your Congress shall make no laws banning the free exercise of "religion." You can have damn near ANYbody immigrate to the U.S. and become an American. NOT SO with us. Despite our granting of "Israeli" citizenship to the (Palestinian) Arabs and other non-Jews (read: NON-Israelites), (cont.)

since 1948, it was and IS a mistake for us to accept anybody as a citizen of Israel. No ... to be a citizen of Israel you MUST be Jewish (read: ISRAELITE) so our sacred Torah laws apply TO you. So then we don't have to worry about "Israeli's-in-general" (read: Jews AND non-Jews) fighting over citizenship rights, land ownership, observance of our Torah laws, etc., etc., etc. Our sacred Torah is very clear: Israelite land is meant for Israelites and Israelites ONLY (which INCLUDES W. Bank).

Yehuda - you start off with posts that seem full of promise, then you progress to rambling and over-doing the caps. and brackets. By the end of your multi-posts, it turns out you are just another Bible - oops sorry - Torah-thumper, living in a land of make-believe. Sorry, but you are just another dreamer, dreaming of living forever on land stolen from other people.

Funny, stealing Palestinian land, nicely, is still stealing and then using racism and apartheid to justify it boggles my sense of justice. And all so convenient when its condoned by the guy in the sky.

# 10 - I think the "guy in the sky" would be very angry at the actions of the Israelis- very angry indeed. After all, their guy in the sky is a very angry God -just read the Old Testament. #9 - spot on, Carine. Yehuda Solomon - you criticise the settlers for their criminal acts against Palestinians, yet you say that the Palestinians will "eventually" leave greater Israel - how? By forcing them out? Killing them? The settlers are doing their best to see to this - doing your dirty work for you.
