HEBRON (Ma’an) -- Israeli settlers in the south Hebron hills assaulted Palestinian villagers on Friday evening, residents told Ma'an.

Three Israelis from the Karmel settlement entered Um al-Kher village, and one threw rocks at the Palestinians living there, local council chief Abu Hamza Hathalin told Ma’an.

Another settler took off all his clothes, and a third insulted the Prophet Muhammad, in order to provoke the villagers, Hathalin said.

Israeli troops arrived at the council's request, but assaulted several villagers, he said.

When Hathalin tried to file a complaint against the settlers, forces told him a council member must go to the Kiryat Arba settlement to make the complaint.

Um al-Kher, which is not connected to electricity or water and faces repeated demolitions, lies adjacent to the well-resourced Israeli settlement Karmel.

Palestinian farmers living in the south Hebron hills complain of constant attacks by settlers living in formal settlements and a crop of illegal outposts in the area.

Israeli authorities have outlined plans to demolish and evacuate eight villages in the area to make space for a military training zone.

"Israeli troops arrived at the councils request, but assaulted several villagers . . ."!!! That would be right -join the attack on the victims. Those settlers should be turfed out - they don't belong there. Don't know why the US sends money to Israel to support these vile thugs. But I guess while they are doing Israel's work for them, ensuring constant harassment of the Palestinians, this serves Israel's purpose, which is to take over the whole of the land and declare the state of Eretz Israel.

To #4 fair: '"Comments will be reviewed for appropriate content" and yet you allow the above anti-Semitic comments to stay? pathetic...' The comments referred to settlers. If you feel that settlers are representative of Jews as a whole, then it is you that are the anti-semite.

Nobody hates Jews just because they are Jews. They are hated for their base, dishonest, greedy, and vicious nature, for the arrogance and disdain with which they treat the "goym". Anti-semitism has been and will always be a "re-action", not an action. Ironically, Arabs have been much more tolerant to Jewry than the Europeans, until Zionism sprouted in the nineteenth century.

#11 what truth? And according to whom exactly? What are your qualifications? And by the way, anti-semitism is not anti-zionism, nor is it anti-colonialism. In fact, based on REAL facts, Arabs are semites as well and also based on REAL facts, as well as undisputable statistics, we can therefore claim that Settlers, according to their actions against the Arab population, are in fact...yep, you guessed it...anti-semites.
