Muslims around the world celebrate Eid al-Adha by slaughtering sheep, goats, cows and camels to commemorate Prophet Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail on God's command.
On the first day of the festival on Friday, families in Gaza and the West Bank traditionally visit the graves of loved ones, reciting Quranic passages and handing out date and nut cookies prepared especially for Eid.
