Israeli forces detain 12 Palestinians in the West Bank

BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained 12 Palestinians across the West Bank overnight Monday, locals and Israel's army said.
Locals told Ma'an that Salih Baseem Radean, 15, Wael Anwar Meshaal, 20, Saqer Abed al-Karim Salim, 17, Ahmad Nidal Salim, 17, Yousef Ghassan Salim, 18, and Ahmad Zahran Salim, 17 were arrested in the Qalqiliya village of Azzun.
Four people were arrested in Tubas and two others in Jenin, locals said.
An Israeli army spokeswoman said that six people were detained in Jericho, two in Nablus, two in Tulkarem, one in Hebron and one in Ramallah.
Palestinians living in the occupied territories are routinely arrested by Israeli forces, usually on the pretext of security.
Around 40 percent of Palestinian men living in the occupied territories have been detained by Israel at some point in their lives.
