GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Hamas-affiliated MP Yahia Mousa said Wednesday he would not welcome Mahmoud Abbas to the Gaza Strip, after the president was reported to have considered a joint visit with the Turkish premier.

"No hello, no welcome, no greeting, your visit is refused. Gaza is the house of the revolution and the revolutionary, and we don't welcome anyone who sells our homeland," Mousa posted on his official Facebook account.

Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan said last week that he plans visit to the Gaza Strip soon, and had had previously proposed a joint visit to the Gaza Strip with President Abbas. "He was warm to the suggestion," Erdogan said.

In October, Qatar's emir visited Gaza, breaking the isolation of its Hamas rulers, and drawing the ire of Abbas' government which is locked in a bitter rivalry with Hamas in Gaza.

Time to get the PA troops back into Gaza to get the Palestinian legitimacy again.

So explain to us again how the PA can sign a peace treaty with Israel. To us who want peace with our neighbors, it looks like the Palestinians couldn't sign a peace treaty even if most of them wanted one.

@mohamed/somalia. No he is not a 'man of peace'. We have seen that during the war on Gaza which he knew about! We have recently seen it again when he said that he has 'no right' to live in Safed. He doesn't care about the Palestinian people. He looks for power and money. Guess who made lots of money from building the Apartheid wall... Abbas and his gang!

It is very sad but true that Palastine had been lost and very selected groups are fighting a lost battle. All current leaders in Ramallah and some Arab leaders had sold the case to the Americans and the Zionist movements and had collected their shares and deposited the proceed in Zurich.

@Sobhi. We are quite happy without the corrupt 'PA troops'! Don't need them, don't want them!

Gaza is a breakaway state. Like Abkhazia and South Ossetia did in Georgia, it has effectively seceded from Palestine, with its own government, security forces, foreign and economic policies. Why would the PA want them back, what do Gaza and Hamas have to offer anyone? The answer to B Cohen's loaded question then is, sign a peace deal with the PLO in the West Bank and make your own arrangements with Gaza - you Israelis are the ones blockading them with the world's longest-running siege after all.
