GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- The Hamas cabinet in Gaza on Wednesday congratulated militant factions for their response to Israeli attacks on the enclave.

Militants fired over 100 rockets at Israeli military sites and across the border in response to Israeli shelling and airstrikes which killed three Palestinian fighters and four civilians since Saturday.

In its weekly meeting, headed by deputy Prime Minister Ziyad al-Thatha, the cabinet applauded the coordination of armed groups in their response to Israeli attacks and their commitment to the ceasefire. Ministers offered condolences to the victims' families.

Ministers also criticized the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah for not seeking a national consensus for its bid to upgrade Palestine's status at the United Nations.

They said the bid risked Palestinian rights and that the PA had not studied the consequences of an upgrade to non-member statehood of the UN.

After the PLO's UN bid is adopted at the UN, Israel can & should consider:
1- that the PLO completely cancelled the Oslo Accords, and also
2- that the old "Oslo" Areas A/B and Gaza are independant states,
-a- without rights to anything to or from Israel and Area C, and
-b- without anything further to negotiate about with Israel, but
-c- with all the responsibilities (anti-terror, etc.) of a real state !!!!
