BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- PA Prime Minister Salam Fayyad on Wednesday urged the international community to stop Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.
Israel on Wednesday launched "Operation Pillar of Cloud" against the Gaza Strip, assassinating Hamas military commander Ahmad al-Jaabari and killing at least five other Palestinians, including a 7-year-old and an 11-month-old baby.
Fayyad condemned the military escalation and the policy of assassination and called on the international community "to assume its responsibilities and to mobilize immediately to stop this escalation and compel Israel to stop its aggression against our people in Gaza as well as provide them with protection," a statement from his office said.
The PA premier has instructed Minister of Health Hani Abdeen to provide for all the needs of hospitals in the Gaza Strip.
