KHARTOUM, Sudan (Reuters) -- Hamas chief Khalid Mashaal on Thursday condemned the killing of military commander Ahmad al-Jaabari and vowed to continue the resistance against Israel.

"Men and women in Palestine, we will continue the resistance," Mashaal said at a meeting of Islamic leaders in the Sudanese capital Khartoum.

Israel has launched dozens of airstrikes across the Gaza Strip and fired tank and naval shells, killing at least 13 Palestinians since Wednesday.

Armed groups in Gaza have fired a barrage of rockets at Israeli military sites and across the border, killing three Israelis on Thursday morning.
