France's Hollande in talks with Israel to end Gaza fighting

PARIS (Reuters) -- French President Francois Hollande has begun talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other world leaders to avert an escalation of violence in the Gaza Strip, Prime Minister Jean-Francois Ayrault said on Thursday.

"It's time to stop this escalation, which is dangerous for the security of Israel and its people and for that of the Palestinian people," Ayrault told reporters during a visit to Berlin. France had made "direct contact" with Netanyahu and Egyptian Prime Minister Mohamed Mursi, he added.

Israel has killed 16 Palestinians in a series of air strikes, naval shelling and tank fire since Wednesday. Militants responded with a barrage of rocket fire, killing three Israelis on Thursday morning.

Hollande makes an understatement when he says it is dangerous for Palestinians. It has been dangerous for Palestinians since israelis invaded Palestine in the early 1900. The israelis came armed to the teeth and without morals. israelis are scum. I am proud not to be an israeli!!! My heart goes to the Palestinians suffereing under the unjust, illegal, disproportionate violence committed by israel. It is israeli terrorism what is happening.

Gaza's government has NEVER wanted peace, with Israel, in the Past, and It does NOT want peace, with Israel, now. And, under these conditions, an "end Gaza fighting" now, without a desire for peace, will just lead to another bloodier period in the future. So for now, it's better to leave the situation as it is, since the attacks are declining, until Gaza's government truely desires peace, for the first time in it's history !!!
