GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- The Secretary-General of the Arab League Nabil al-Arabi arrived in the Gaza Strip with a delegation of foreign ministers from Arab countries on Tuesday afternoon.
Israeli forces carried out several airstrikes while the Arab delegation entered the coastal enclave, to show solidarity with the people of Gaza.
"We are here to show solidarity with the people of Gaza who are facing aggression," al-Arabi told reporters at Rafah crossing.
The delegation encompasses 13 Arab foreign ministers in addition to Turkey foreign minister Dawood Oglu and 35 journalists.
Deputy foreign minister of the Hamas-run Gaza government Ziad Thatha along with other officials received the delegation at Rafah crossing.
The delegation is scheduled to remain in Gaza for a few hours, visiting Shifa medical compound, as well as al-Dalou family who lost 11 members in an Israeli airstrike two days ago.
