GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Secretary-General of Islamic Jihad, Ramadan Shalah, is due to arrive in the Gaza Strip on Friday to participate in Hamas' 25th anniversary celebrations, Palestinian sources said.
The sources, who asked to remain anonymous, told Ma'an that Shalah and his deputy Ziad Nakhaleh will lead an Islamic Jihad delegation to the coastal enclave.
Islamic Jihad spokesman Daoud Shehab confirmed to Ma'an that Shalah will visit the Gaza Strip, but could not confirm the date.
The visit by Shalah, who is currently based in Egypt, has extensive security concerns to consider, Shehab added.
Hamas will launch its 25th anniversary celebrations on Saturday, spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said this week.
