Islamic Jihad chief 'reconsiders Gaza visit after Israeli threat'

GAZA CITY (Ma’an) -- Israel threatened to assassinate the leader of Islamic Jihad if he enters the Gaza Strip, causing the party to reconsider his upcoming visit, sources said Thursday.

Egyptian authorities told Islamic Jihad that Israel rejected the visit and would target leader Ramadan Shalah and his deputy Ziad Nakhla if they went into Gaza, sources close to the discussions told Ma'an.

Islamic Jihad leaders are considering whether to cancel the visit, set to take place on Friday ahead of Hamas' 25th anniversary celebrations which start the following day.

Jihad's leadership are in talks with the Egyptian authorities over the matter.

Haaretz reports that Israel "would consider the Gaza truce over" should members of the Islamic Jihad enter Gaza with the Hamas leader expected to arrive on Friday. Do they mean new assassinations by that?

#7: Ramadan Shalah, Ismail Hanyieh etc. might be murderers to you and others like you, but for Gazans Israelis are murderers as well. It is just about who is talking. For Afghans Americans are murderers, and for those American soldiers Afghans are murderers. With your own logic, it would be okay for Palestinians to kill any Israeli soldier they see, because they (IDF soldiers) are "just murderers" for Palestinians. Wouldn't it be better if "a murder" would be " a murder", no matter who kills?

Just for the record: #12 If someone is ready to kill you and you kill him first, it is called in self defense. If someone kills civilians, it is called terrorism. If the leader of terrorists, even if he never fired a gun himself, he himself become a terrorist; if gets murdered, it is called in self defence. So far it seems Hamas has committed double crimes, killing Gazan's civilians and Israeli childrens. Know that there r Arab Israelis in IDF fighting terrorists wherever they are. Got it?

#7 one man's terrorist is another's freedom fighter. Remember Menachem Begin? Yitshak Shamir? Leaders of Irgun? Stern Gang? They were declared terrorists by the British because of their killing spree during the Mandate, even murdering Count Bernadotte the UN mediator, who saved Jews during the war. They were subsequently rewarded, given medals, made prime ministers, treated as heroes by the new state. They didn't renounce terrorism either - engaged in ethnic cleansing up to the 1949 armistice
