JERICHO (Ma'an) -- PLO official Saeb Erekat on Thursday said Israeli plans to build settlements in the strategic E-1 zone of the occupied West Bank would be a critical blow to the two-state solution and peace process.

In meetings with the US and British consuls to the Palestinian Authority, the former negotiator said if implemented, the plan will block East Jerusalem from becoming the capital of the state of Palestine.

He called on the international community to respect international law, under which all Israeli settlement building is illegal.

Last Thursday, an overwhelming majority of UN members states voted for the Palestinian bid for upgraded membership.

A day later, Israel's government announced 3,000 new settler homes and accelerated planning for the strategic "E1" zone in the occupied West Bank.

In Europe, Spain, Denmark, France, Britain, Sweden and Italy have all summoned their Israeli ambassadors over the move, as well as Australia, Panama and Egypt.

- Hamas' coup, separating Gaza control from ther West Bank government
already killed the TWO STATE solution, and
Israel's settlement plan, separating north from south in the West Bank,
will kill THREE STATE solution, and
honestly Jericho is cut-off too, so it could become a FOURTH STATE,
which brings us to the FIVE STATE SOLUTION:
1- Israel,
2- Gaza,
3- Ramallah/North,
4- Bethlehem/South, and
5- Jericho/Valley.

Peace process? Without negotiations, there is no peace process.

Dead is Dead. And, you can NOT kill something twice. And, since the PLO already "killed the 2-state solution", by refusing to negotiate, and their UN Bid for statehood, Israel can NOT possibly kill "2-states" again.

The 2 state plan was never alive. The plan needed agreement between sides that there would be two states. israel never intended to allow Palestinians to have a state. It was a bait and switch. israel offers Palestinians peace during negotiations and but never finishes negotiations until politically impossible. Palestinians only home is israel now. The Palestinians all deserve the right to vote, property, and right of return. israel had its chance to allow Palestinians a separate state.
