GAZA CITY (Ma’an) – Palestinian prisoner Muhammad Adel Hasan Dawood, 47, on Saturday completes his 25th year in Israeli jails bringing the number of Palestinian prisoners who served more than a quarter decade to 22.

According to the director of Gaza-based Palestinian Prisoners Center for Studies Riyad al-Ashqar, Dawood, from Qalqiliya in the northern West Bank, was detained Nov. 8, 1987, and sentenced to life.

An Israeli military court convicted Dawood of carrying out an attack against settlers at the bypass road south of Qalqiliya killing a number of settlers. Israeli forces then demolished his home.

Lucky for him he was not executed. Just look what Hamas does to unconvicted prisoners. There seems to be is most Arab countries no proper independent judiciary and whatsmore there seems to absolutely no point in talking "peace" to Abbas or Hamas now after yesterday"s deplorable speech in Gaza. Looks like big "own goal" to me

@ 2 .. Are you trying to compare Palestinian justice to Israeli justice? Are the murders of Palestinian kids properly investigated by the authorities in Israel? How many IDF soldiers are currently in prison for these crimes? How many investigations actually progressed to a court case? While I condemn the murders of suspected traitors in Gaza, how long were the killers of Abir Aramin and Iman Darweesh Al Hams sentenced to? FYI , Israel haven't 'talked peace' for many years. Educate yourself.
