BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) -- The Palestinian Authority government is working to pay its employees for the month of November in the coming days, its spokeswoman said Sunday.
As soon as the funds are available, workers will receive salaries, Nour Odeh said, without providing a date.
She said Israel transferred under 200 million shekels ($0.5 million) to the Palestinian Authority in recent days, but this was a pending payment from the previous month.
Israel's decision to seize PA tax revenues after the UN admitted Palestine as a non-member state still stands, she said.
At an Arab League follow-up meeting in Doha held on Sunday, the PA will ask for its "safety net" from Arab countries to be increased from $100 million to $200 million per month.
