BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) -- Inter-Palestinian reconciliation is an emergency without which efforts to accomplish the Palestinian national project remain deficient, Egypt's foreign minister said Sunday.
"The Egyptian people and leadership are adamant about achieving this reconciliation, and for this purpose a meeting will be held soon in Cairo," Muhammad Kamil Amr wrote on his official Facebook page.
He added that the Arab Peace Initiative provided Israel with a historic opportunity to live in peace not only with its neighboring countries, but with all Islamic countries as well.
The Arab Peace Initiative was first proposed at the Arab League Summit in Beirut 2002, then re-endorsed at the Riyadh Summit 2007.
"However, allured by its power, Israel seemingly prioritizes expansionism," Amr said.
