Abbas heads to Turkey

TURKEY (Ma'an) -- President Mahmoud Abbas is scheduled to visit Turkey on Monday, the Palestinian embassy in the country said.
Abbas will meet in Ankara with his Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gul, Turkish premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan, foreign minister Ahmed Davutoglu and speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Cemil Cicek.
The Palestinian embassy will organize a dinner hosting a Palestinian folklore band on Tuesday. Turkish officials and diplomats will be invited to the dinner in recognition of the role Turkey played to support the Palestinian UN bid.
Abbas will leave Turkey on Wednesday to continue an international tour. His other destinations have not been specified.
